- the Portland Farmers Market is a feast for the eyes and a great
opportunity to capture unique shots. This trip is a wonderful chance to
get advice and guidance from a talented mentor while you shoot and
refine your technique in the field.Fine-art photographer Christine Eagon will work one-on-one with each photographer, making sure everyone gets great shots. The second session will be a review and critique of work created on the trip. Students should bring cameras and may shoot with film or digitally.
This class is a wonderful chance to develop your portraiture skills while receiving helpful guidance and inspiration from fine-art photographer Christine Eagon. You'll learn to craft sensitive, relaxed portraits in natural, available light. Class will focus on portraits in ambient light interiors, window and reflected light, and natural light in outdoor locations. You'll learn to develop rapport with subjects (people and pets) and how to create images with engaging emotional content.
This workshop is ideal for those wishing to move beyond a purely technical approach to explore art-making on a more intuitive, expressive level. Group exercises and discussions will encourage and inform your creative process as you receive feedback on work created over the course of the class. Student should bring cameras and may shoot with film or digitally

This workshop is an in-depth,
hands-on look at manual-mode film camera
operation. Understanding manual mode will enable you to make more
informed, artistic choices about the way you want your pictures to look
- which is not something you can control on automatic mode.
If you'd like to gain control of the process and stop letting your camera make all the important decisions for you, this workshop is a must. You'll learn all about shutter speed, aperture, and film speeds while getting hands-on practice with your own camera. You'll also learn about different film formats, including medium and large format films.
Students should bring four rolls of 400ASA film, cameras with fresh batteries, and manuals, if available.

Use emulsion transfer combined with collage and mixed media.
Polaroids and Poetry
Combine poetry and images using the Daylab copysystem. Bring a selection of 4x6 photos and copies of poems. Magnetic poetry, paper and equipment provided.
Cost: $50 per hour + materials. Hourly rate may be shared. Bring a friend or two and share the costs.
